We are currently looking at integrating flat screens within the SMART home’s walls. Accordingly we are calling this part of the project ‘SMART walls’.
Currently, if a TV is mounted on a wall and if the homeowner decides at a later date to move it to another wall or buy a larger one, the entire flat screen mounting has to be disassembled and re-assembled to accommodate the new TV. This requires hiring a professional to come in each time you need to remount the housing, leaving holes in the wall.
In addition, with mounting, the TV is protruding out of the wall. With our system, the TV will be mounted within the wall itself, but what makes this most remarkable is that the wall will be flexible to accommodate any size TV. It will have an inside mount that will allow easy fitting, similar to putting a battery inside a flashlight. AC and A/V connectivity will also be easily available via the rear of the wall.
Technically, this will consist of an aluminum housing within the sheetrock that will automatically change to any size via a wall remote. If there is no TV within the SMART wall, a painting, framed photograph or other decoration can be placed there.
As technology continues to improve, we are currently looking at using the 4K system, which provides four times more pixels than an ordinary 1080p LED screen.
Jay Taub’s brother, Victor will be managing this part of the project.
