1. Remove the SIM (subscriber identity module) card
a. Insert the SIM Removal Tool into the tiny hole located on the side of
b. The SIM card will pop out.
c. Remove the card.
2. Remove the Dock Screws
a. These are 3.6 mm Pentalobe screws
b. The tiny screws are located on each side of the docking port.
3. Remove the Rear Panel
a. Slide the rear panel towards the top of the iPhone until it stops.
b. Remove the panel.
4. Remove the screws holding the battery
a. The battery screws are located at the bottom left of the phone.
b. Disconnect the battery connector (before lifting the battery out)
Before disconnecting the battery from the logic board, the antenna plate must be removed first.
The antenna plate is located under the battery connector, just above the lower battery screw hole.
Using tweezers, remove the antenna plate.

Disconnect from Logic Board
Place the pointed end of the nylon spudger tool next to the lower battery screw hole.
In a leveraging manner, lift upwards to remove the battery connector from the logic board
Lift plastic pull tab to remove. If not there, use spudger.
Remove the EMI Screws
There are four sizes of screws here: 2.6 mm screw 2 1 1.3 mm screw 3 1 1.2 mm screw 4 1 2.7 mm screw
These are the screws that hold the EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) metal shield.
They are located at the top of the phone.
Using the proper Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws.
Do Not Remove the Shield.
Remove the Wi-Fi EMI Screws & Shield.
1.5 mm Phillips screw
The EMI Wi-Fi shield is located to the right of the EMI shield.
Remove the screw.
Using tweezers, remove the Wi-Fi EMI shield clip.
